The President of the Academy of Engineering Sciences, Singapore (AESS) attended the China–Singapore Advanced Materials Science & Technology Exchange Conference held on September 26 in Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area. The event brought together leading experts, scholars, and industry representatives from China and Singapore to deepen cooperation in frontier materials science and advanced technology innovation.

In his remarks, the representative of the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau noted that the conference coincided with the 10th anniversary of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Interconnectivity Pilot Project. He emphasized that Chongqing is accelerating the construction of a nationally influential center for science, technology and innovation, and that international collaboration plays a crucial role in this process.
During the meeting, the President of the Academy of Engineering Sciences, Singapore highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral collaboration in advanced materials. He stated that Singapore attaches great value to joint innovation in high-performance materials, advanced manufacturing, clean energy technologies, and healthcare materials. He also noted that the conference serves as a vital platform for expanding exchanges between the engineering and scientific communities of both countries.

Experts from leading institutions engaged in detailed discussions on research progress, technology pathways, and industrial applications, contributing to stronger cooperation and knowledge exchange between China and Singapore.
Held as part of the China–Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Interconnectivity Pilot Project Experience Week, the event was co-organized by the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Project Management Bureau, the Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, and the National University of Singapore. The conference aims to promote joint research, technology transfer, and industrial integration in the field of advanced materials.
The participation of the President of the Academy of Engineering Sciences, Singapore is expected to further enhance high-level scientific cooperation and support the development of Chongqing as a leading hub for advanced materials innovation.
