Singapore is a nation that strongly supports the advancement of engineering sciences, and the Academy of Engineering Sciences, Singapore (AESS), serves as an independent institution through which leading engineers, scientists, and innovators contribute their expertise for the benefit of the country. Fellows are elected to the Academy in recognition of their distinguished achievements in engineering, technology, or applied science, as well as their dedication to helping the Academy apply the best available knowledge to issues of strategic importance to Singapore.
Our Fellows represent a wide range of engineering and scientific disciplines, including materials and physical sciences, mechanical and electrical engineering, information and communication technologies, energy and sustainability systems, biomedical engineering, and emerging technological fields that shape Singapore’s future. Members come from academia, industry, research institutes, and national laboratories across Singapore and the broader international community.
Fellows are elected directly by current AESS members or may be distinguished members of recognized national or international academies of engineering and science. Learn more about the nomination and election process.
